EVA foam cosplay armor typically gets built with three very different adhesives, and none of them is a one-size-fits-all answer. Picking the wrong one for a given seam means a bond that fails on stage, a foam surface that clouds or pits, or glue strings running across a helmet visor.

None of these wins every job. Most experienced foam builders use two or three of them across a single suit: contact cement for the big seams, hot glue for quick temporary holds, and a foam-safe CA glue for the detail work where precision and a clean finish matter more than raw panel-to-panel strength.
Where Hobby and Craft fits in an EVA foam build
Starbond's Hobby and Craft line was formulated to solve the exact problem standard CA glue causes on foam: the curing reaction generates enough heat and solvent activity to melt or cloud EVA foam's surface. Hobby and Craft is odorless and 100% foam-safe, so it handles the jobs standard super glue can't touch.
Hobby and Craft Brush-On Superglue (10g): the bottle cap is a built-in precision brush applicator, so there's no separate tool to prep. It runs about 150 cP, thin enough to lay a controlled bead along a seam or edge, and cures in 5-15 seconds without clamping. This is the one for trim pieces, edge sealing, and joints where a hot glue string would show.
Hobby and Craft Gel Superglue (5g x 3-pack): a thick, non-drip gel formula (roughly 5,000 cP) that stays exactly where it's applied instead of running down a vertical surface. It's the better choice for upright pieces like helmet visors, standing armor plates, or anywhere gravity would normally fight a thinner glue. Same 5-15 second cure.
Neither is meant to replace contact cement for bonding two large flat foam panels together; that's still the stronger, more flexible option for big seams. Hobby and Craft's job is the precision work: attaching small hardware, sealing detail edges, and fixing the spots where a cleaner, faster bond actually matters more than raw panel strength.
