Product Description

Starbond Heavy Thin CA Glue is the ideal choice for makers who want thin CA behavior with more control. At ~40 cPs, this formula is thicker than water-thin CA but still thin enough to wick deeply into cracks, pores, and joints—giving you precision without the flooding, runoff, or instant flash-cure common in ultra-thin formulas.

With a 20–30 second cure time, Heavy Thin allows deliberate placement and consistent penetration. This makes it exceptionally effective for woodworking, woodturning, luthiery, inlay preparation, structural reinforcement, and controlled crack filling where water-thin CA may absorb too quickly.

Compared to Classic Thin, Heavy Thin yields:
Cleaner application on vertical or semi-porous surfaces
More predictable penetration depth
Less bleeding through wood fibers
Reduced hazing and blooming for a clearer finish
Better surface control for CA finishing

This adhesive is widely used by:
Woodworkers and woodturners repairing cracks, knots, pores, and joints
Instrument makers reinforcing braces, fretboards, and edge joints
Model builders bonding small assemblies without self-leveling everywhere
DIY users repairing fine cracks in plastic, metal, or composite materials
Craft and jewelry makers who need thin CA with more workability

Heavy Thin builds clean, consistent CA finish layers and penetrates deeply enough for structural reinforcement while still allowing time for adjustment. It provides the ideal “middle ground” between a fast, watery thin CA and a thicker, more controllable medium.

This Super Glue Pro Kit includes all the accessories you need, plus access to Starbond’s Masterclass video series, helping you achieve clean, professional repairs with strong, consistent results.

Backed by Starbond’s 30-month shelf-life warranty and satisfaction guarantee, this Pro Kit delivers dependable performance for heavy-duty projects and professional results.

Heavy thin fills a void

It's very useful for the cracks that are too big for thin and too small for heavy.

Customer for many years-Great service and shipping!

This Heavy Thin CA glue works great in the woodworking craft I do. Easy to use and I purchased the 16oz bottle with extra bottles and the micro-tips to put the CA glue almost precisely where you need it. ( This would be my 2-3 16oz bottle). The Black CA works great for filling cracks around a walnut knot or enhancing the knot or crack. I used the thin CA to glue the back plate with the front bucking horse and used a contrasting color to complete the ornament. Many sold!

I love these products. I have the clear, brown, and black. The small tips make it easy for precise work with little no cleanup. I will be ordering more. Using the black to glue down these thin strips was very time saving.

I have wanted to try Starbound for quite sometime and finally have a project that requires the filling of holes.I ordered a couple of bottles and it arrived quickly. I'm working with some Spalted Hackberry and the big voids were still packed with dust. I applied several drops to each void, let it soak in and applied more. After repeating this several times, I sprayed on the activator. Worked like charm! After planing and sanding, the holes look like part of the wood. I'll be using more Starbond- the stuff is awesome!

I work with spalted maple, which can be soft and punky. I use Starbond's Heavy Thin CA to firm up soft wood that allows me to turn it into art. These three pieces are examples of how I use Starbond's Heavy Thin CA in my work. It is truly an outstanding product and I rely on it in my woodshop. Dave Snyder Custom Woodworking Pittsfield Maine.

As I work more with CA glue, differences become more apparent. Starbond is an excellent system of glues. I’m now happy to have the “thin” version for those times when a crack-penetrating glue is best.

It worked like a charm

I used Starbond's EM-40 and EM-02 to assemble a motor tube for a mid-power rocket. Good CA for these components, particularly the 40 for filling small gaps. Great stuff. Starbond is my new go-to CA.

Best CA glue I've ever used. Works perfect for keeping the bark on natural edge bowls.

I have used just about every single glue on the market for paper crafts. I was never happy with any of them due to either the dry time was too long, didn't dry clear, didn't hold/wasn't strong enough or it was too messy etc. My husband uses this brand for his hard wood projects. He contacted customer Care to ask which would be best for paper crafting. I build miniatures using thick brochure paper, cardstock and sometimes chipboard. It will also be handled often so I needed something that would durable and a quick grab. The first time I used this CA glue, I was in shock! Literally 1 drop spread out with a toothpick is all I needed and it's an instant hold. I could not build my minis without this stuff. It's the best and highly recommended.
Attached he'd is a paper mini box I built using this glue. The glue dries so quickly and makes my miniatures solid as a rock!

I use this on my pens for a very shiny finish. I recently had a truck drive on my sidewalk and put tiny cracks in it. I live in PA and I did not want water to get into the cracks and freeze breaking the concrete. I used the fine tip and filled in the cracks. Problem solved!

Thanks for the feedback

The best ca I have used from inlay rings and finishes for my wooden rings.

Thank you so much, Foster Branch woodturning. We're super glad to hear Starbond Ca works well for your wooden rings.

I have been using Starbond CA Glue for many years to do stone inlay in woodturnings and have found it superior to other brands. I keep it in my freezer and it will last a year or two no problem. Recently I have started finishing the entire piece with a combination of thin, medium thin and medium. It is a little tricky but the end result is amazing.

Hey Jim, thank you so much for the review and feedback! We are truly happy to hear that you find value in using Starbond

Good option if you need thicker coat.

Thank you for the review, Alex!

I use this to soak into cracks on projects. It holds really well and that’s important because it’s safer after using this. Anything spinning at 1,200 RPM needs to hold together.
