Product Description

Repair an uneven break or line up small parts before the glue sets. Starbond Gap-Filling Thick Super Glue Pro Kit fills small bonding gaps and gives you more time to position parts than Super Fast Thin. Its honey-like, 2,000 cPs flow runs less than water-thin glue and keeps more adhesive near the joint. Use this thick CA glue, a cyanoacrylate adhesive, as ceramic glue for suitable decorations or to attach raised sign letters and furniture details. As miniature glue, it joins suitable miniature models and model-train parts where small irregularities need filling. It also works as super glue for metal parts and super glue for 3D prints made from suitable materials.

For archery, use it as fletching glue to position suitable arrow vanes, following the vane and shaft makers’ adhesive requirements. In woodworking and woodturning, fill small cracks, knots and surface holes in layers, then let the repair cure before sanding. Choose an appropriate filler or epoxy for large missing sections. Thick is the choice when you want controlled placement and more time to line up an uneven joint.

Application notes

Fit parts and prepare both contact surfaces before bonding; test unfamiliar materials and finishes on a small sample. For fletching, follow the component makers’ preparation, primer and clamping instructions. Support the joint while it sets and allow full cure before use.

Product FAQs

When should I choose Thick instead of Thin or Medium super glue?
Choose Starbond Thick gap-filling super glue for small bonding gaps, uneven edges or repairs that need more positioning time than Super Fast Thin. Its honey-like 2,000 cPs flow keeps more glue near the joint. Thin wicks into tight seams; Medium balances speed and flow for everyday repairs.
Can I use Thick as model glue or for ceramic and 3D-print repairs?
Yes. This cyanoacrylate glue can bond compatible ceramic decorations, finished 3D prints and miniature models where small gaps or uneven edges make thicker glue useful. Match it to the actual material; polyethylene, polypropylene and silicone need a different adhesive approach.
Can I use Starbond Thick as fletching glue?
Starbond Thick is used as fletching glue for suitable arrow vanes. Its controlled flow gives more positioning time than Super Fast Thin. Follow the vane and shaft makers’ adhesive and preparation requirements; allow full cure before use.

Starbond is holding together a lot of my bowls.

As many others have said, Starbond is a woodturner's best friend. A couple of weeks ago, I was turning a 14" oak burl platter with some major voids, and it looked great. I had it all done except for the foot, and as I was turning the foot, it exploded into 6 pieces. After I dried my tears, I thought I would give Starbond a chance. Amazingly, it turned out great and feels solid as a rock. Thanks Starbond.

Great product

Very happy with Starbond products, especially the different thickness options for their ca glue. I like the medium used with accelerator for finish carpentry (house), and the thicker stuff for filling knots, etc. on projects in the shop. The thin is great to with its ability to wick through wood, I like it to preserve edges and corners that would be susceptible to splintering. Plenty of applications, happy to have found you guys!

Great

Fresh and thick enough to fill gap but thin enough to put where you need it.

Insane…

You could probably glue the Empire State to the Chrysler Building with this. One of the most powerful adhesives I have yet come about… Add the quick setting from the spray and the maneuvering with sanding and filling gaps and it makes this the absolutely perfect glue for any workshop. Both the tick clear and also the Brown medium thick became the main go to for my shop. Could not recommend more !

thick gap filler for hardwood bench

Used thick gap filler (without accelerator) to fill cracks in a tropical rain forest hard wood bench (repurposed rail-road ties). The thick fillers small nozzle was very effective to prevent excess filler on the piece. The thick filler took several subsequent applications to fill the gaps but was "thin" enough to flow into the cracks. I believe the amount flowing into the gaps is much better than an epoxy like west system would have achieved and certainly without a high amount of excess epoxy being applied on the piece.

This stuff is a must.

Whenever I use Starbond CA glue, no matter the purpose, I notice I am always absolutely confident I made the right choice. It does so many things and it does them all superbly. Yes, there are other brands but I always want the best for my projects and in my view Starbond is the best. It is a quality that other brands aspire to.

Your “Gap Filler” Glue

I am a wood carver/ sculptor. This glue, not only kept the cracks from getting any bigger, but filled the cracks AND matched the color of the wood! I wish I had known about it years ago when I started woodworking! Thanks so much!

The Starbond thick gap filler is perfect for my needs. I use it for assembly of numerous parts and pieces for my projects. Unfortunately I rely on this glue far too much for all of my projects. I got to have it.

I got this glue just as I was making some scroll saw bowls. The pieces are very fragile and I had several break while sanding them. How great that I could glue them back together with this glue, and using the accelerator, I could keep sanding with no wait. I highly recommend!

Use this and the medium to “tack weld” the strips on a strip built canoe so as to minimize the use of staples. Worked like a charm!

That's awesome to hear, Donald! We are truly happy that you find value in our products.

Works great for filling holes in your project. I’ve used it on cherry and walnut with very good results. Has a very rich look after finishing. These cutting boards I just made had pretty small holes, but I think u get the idea.
