Difference Between Medium and Medium-Thick CA Glue

Difference Between Medium and Medium-Thick CA Glue

1 min reading time

The main difference between the Medium and the Medium-Thick is the viscosity. The thickness of the Medium is similar to the motor oil while the thickness of Medium-Thick is similar to the syrup. The latter has a longer drying time compared to the Medium. But both are great for filling voids, knots, and hiding imperfections.

When working with more porous surfaces, use the medium-thick to prevent the glue from wicking and sometimes causing an unwanted stain around the void. You'll also use less CA glue since most of it remains on the surface.

Pro tip
To prevent the medium or even thin CA from wicking into the surface, it is advisable to spray accelerator on the surface before applying the CA glue. This helps the CA glue cure almost instantly.
